Kongsberg International Preschool
For children aged 3 to 5 years as of December 31, we offer:
- a developmentally appropriate PYP early years curriculum, based on each child’s needs, interests and competencies
- the opportunity to be fluent in English by being immersed in a learning environment where English is the primary language of instruction
- weekly emails describing your child’s learning experiences
- a purposeful, well resourced environment with teachers and staff who are highly qualified and dedicated
- a safe and caring family atmosphere for your young child.
What will my child experience in the Preschool?
Preschool students are encouraged to explore and understand the world around them through both free-play and structured learning activities, following the International Baccalaureate Early Years Programme. The IB in early years provides ongoing opportunities for students to:
- make choices and decisions
- use materials in flexible and imaginative ways
- initiate inquiry and ask questions
- work collaboratively with others
- sustain their interests and extend their knowledge
- develop understanding.
Your child will learn English by being immersed in a learning environment where English is the primary language of instruction. Our five year olds also have two classes each week of Norwegian.
