
KIS Careers Program
KIS Careers Programme aims to provide students with an understanding of the importance of education, work and lifelong learning. Students gain knowledge about the education system in Norway and abroad, and opportunities in education and work. They reflect upon their own strengths and interests, and the needs and demands in future society. During work experience week in Grade 8, 9 and 10, they gain knowledge and hands-on experience of different occupations. In Grade 9 they reach out to a company or organisation of interest and spend a day there interviewing different people about their work. Students visit career exhibitions in Grade 9 and 10. Grade 9 visit the different programs in upper secondary schools for a day, and Grade 10 students spend two days in upper secondary schools, visiting two programs of their choice. Student are offered individual conversations with careers counsellor twice in Grade 10, and guidance in the application process.
